IPOS launches month-long creative festival

SINGAPORE - Singapore's arts and heritage district launched a month-long 'Streets of Creativity' (SOC) project today to celebrate World Intellectual Property Day (World IP day) 2015.

This day is observed globally on April 26 by 188 countries with Intellectual Property Offices annually.

The month-long SOC project includes a live concert, symphonic orchestra performances, an artisan bazaar, beauty roadshows, art exhibitions and workshops.

The pilot project is jointly organised by the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore and 50 other partners such as The Cathay, Singapore Art Musuem and Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts.

Ms Lim Geok Cheng, Principal, School of the Arts (SOTA) said, "The creative process involves a lot of passion and hard work. Respect and protection of original works is especially critical for our students, as they become the next generation of artists, professionals and leaders for the creative industries. SOTA is happy to be part of The Streets of Creativity project, as our nation looks forward to another 50 years of progress, with a proliferation of artistic talents, and more support and interest for the arts."
