ITU Secretary-General, PM Lee discuss smart cities

SINGAPORE - International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Secretary-General Zhao Houlin and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong discussed cooperative efforts today (June 2).

At their first meeting, PM Lee and Mr Zhao reaffirmed the strong relations between Singapore and the ITU. They also discussed prospects for further co-operation in ICT development, smart cities and cyber security.

PM Lee also congratulated the ITU on celebrating its 150th anniversary this year.

Mr Zhao is in Singapore for the Infocomm Media Business Exchange and the Ministerial Forum on ICT 2015. He had earlier called on Minister for Communications and Information, Dr Yaacob Ibrahim, at the side-lines of the Ministerial Forum.
