The couple skipped their usual weekend movie date because Mr Chiu Lu Piao, a piano technician, was set on collecting his Airwheel Q5 electric unicycle.

"It's the first time I have won any type of contest in my life," said Mr Chiu, 62, with a gleeful smile.

"I've never won a lucky draw before either so I was very excited."

After seeing the smile on her husband's face when he won, Mrs Lenny Chiu gladly agreed to postpone their date last night to catch the new action flick San Andreas.

Mrs Chiu, 62, a housewife, said: "We have been going on movie dates since we were dating, but for this, I was fine with making an exception.

"He was so excited that he texted our family group chat to tell our three daughters and our son-in-law the news."

Mr Chiu conceded that his kids will end up using the Airwheel more than he will.

"But it doesn't matter, it still made my day," he added.

Meanwhile, Mr Ozzy Muhammad, 25, picked up $100 in his very first attempt at the TNP Bonus Challenge.

"It's going into the holiday fund," said the ITE student. "I plan on going to Hong Kong for my next vacation."

HOW TO PLAY

Simply buy TNP each Monday to receive a Bonus Challenge card.

Match the numbers on the card with the six digits in each issue of TNP from Tuesday to Sunday.

If a vertical row is matched (from top to bottom), players should go to the lobby of the Singapore Press Holdings News Centre at Toa Payoh North on the same day between 8pm and 9pm to claim their prize by answering a simple question.

The jackpot prize will snowball the next day if it remains unclaimed by 9pm.

Today's grand prize will be $3,000 cash.

Other prizes up for grabs include an Airwheel S3 electric scooter and an Airwheel Q5 electric unicycle.
