KUALA KUMPUR - A man, jealous of his ex-wife's new marriage allegedly vandalised his replacement's motorcycle and slashed the man using a broken piece of glass outside his ex's home in Kg Chubadak Sentul.
Police are now looking for 21-year-old Mohamad Syafiq Mohd Alias (pic), who ran off with an accomplice leaving his victim bleeding with shards of glass still stuck in his body.
Sentul OCPD ACP R. Munusamy said the suspect and an accomplice came to his ex's home at around 6.30pm on Monday and began shouting expletives at his ex's new husband.
"Mohamad Syafiq shouted to his victim to come out of the house and face him.
"Of course, the guy didn't come out, so the suspect and his accomplice vandalised and damaged the man's Yamaha RXZ motorcycle parked outside," he said Tuesday.
When the victim came outside to check on the motorcycle, the suspect "pounced" on him, said ACP Munusamy.
The two fought outside the home, smashing a window, while Mohamad Syafiq's ex-wife could only stand and watch.
"The woman claimed that her ex-husband then took a broken piece of glass from the smashed window and slashed the victim with it," ACP Munusamy said.
The man suffered cuts in his lower right ear and had to be taken by neighbours to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital to remove other shards still in his body.
Police are on the lookout for Mohamad Syafiq, who has not returned home since the incident.
Those with information on Mohamad Syafiq's whereabouts are asked to contact the Sentul police hotline at 03-2159999 or SMS Rakan Cop (32728).
