SINGAPORE - A man's decomposed body was found hanging from a tree along Republic Avenue on Sunday evening, Lianhe Wanbao reported.
The man who found the body was jogging past a forested area near Suntec City at the time.
It took police nearly two hours to retrieve the body with a ladder and a chainsaw, the Chinese daily said.
Around 20 officers donning masks were seen entering the forest at about 8:30pm.
When officers carried the decomposed and blackened body out of the forest at about 10pm, a strong smell filled the air, Wanbao's reporter said.
The deceased is believed to be about 30 years old but could not be identified due to the body's advanced state of decomposition.
An undertaker told Wanbao that the man is believed to have been dead for about five or six days.
This is not the first time a body has been found hanged in a Singapore forest. Last June, another man was also found hanged in a forested area near Kaki Bukit.
