SINGAPORE - Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Law K Shanmugam will attend a two-day ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Retreat in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia starting tomorrow (Jan 27).
The retreat marks the first in a series of meetings under Malaysia's Chairmanship of ASEAN for the year.
The Singapore Foreign Affairs Ministry said 2015 marks an important milestone for ASEAN as it will realise the establishment of an ASEAN Community by the end of the year.
During the retreat, the ASEAN Foreign Ministers will take stock of ASEAN's community-building and integration efforts, exchange ideas on the ASEAN Community's post-2015 vision as well as discuss on how to further strengthen ASEAN.
They will also discuss ASEAN's relations with its external partners and exchange views on regional and international issues.
Mr Shanmugam will be accompanied by officials from the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
