Lawrence Wong visiting Bhutan to discuss cooperation in various areas

SINGAPORE - Acting Minister for Culture, Community and Youth Lawrence Wong will be visiting the Kingdom of Bhutan from December 2 to 4, 2013.

He is visiting the country at the invitation of His Excellency Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bhutan.

Mr Wong's visit aims to strengthen Singapore's bilateral relations with Bhutan, as well as to explore further cooperation with the Bhutanese in the areas of arts, heritage, sports, information and communications technology development, and youth and community engagement.

During the trip, Mr Wong will call on Prime Minister Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay and the Minister for Home and Cultural Affairs Damchoe Dorji.

Mr Wong will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
