Leg stuck in train platform causes delay on North-East Line

SINGAPORE - Commuters on the North-East Line experienced delays after a passenger's leg was stuck in the train platform.

According to Channelnews Asia, a woman had fallen into the platform gap at Boon Keng MRT station.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was alerted about the incident on Thursday morning at 8.10am.

Hydraulic rescue tools were then used to extricate the women's right leg. She was later conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital in a stable and conscious condition, the same reported added.

An updated posted on Twitter by SBS Transit at 8.25am read: "NEL service towards HarbourFront NE1 is delayed up to 10 minutes."

Train services later resumed at 8.53am.

This is not the first occurrence of such incident. The same incident happened to a student in March when her leg was similarly trapped between the platform and train at Hougang MRT station, causing delays on the NEL.
