Let kids have fun, PM Lee tells parents

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has stressed that every child deserves a good start in life.

That is why the Government is building more pre-school places and raising preschool standards, he wrote on his Facebook page.

He put up the post after attending what he described as a wonderful concert at PCF Teck Ghee.

"Parents often worry about their children's academic performance," he wrote. "But we need to strike the right balance between studying, playing and spending time with the family.

"Don't pressure your children too much, and do let them enjoy their childhood and have fun."

The Government announced extra funding this year to expand and improve pre-school education.
