LTA chief exec to oversee Municipal Services Office

SINGAPORE - Chief executive of Land Transport Authority (LTA) Chew Hock Yong will be appointed Second Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of National Development (MND) on Oct 1.

The 49-year-old will oversee the Municipal Services Office announced by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the National Day Rally.

Mr Chew will also be closely involved in MND's stragetic and land planning, and housing portfolios, wrote the Public Service Division in a statement today.

Mr Chew joined the Administrative Service in 1991 and had served in various capacities in the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Communications, Ministry of Homa Affairs and Ministry of Finance.

In 2004, he was appointed Deputy Secretary of the then Minsitry of Community Development and Sports. He has been chief executive at LTA since 2010.
