M1 Chairman Teo Soon Hoe dies

SINGAPORE - Singapore telco M1's Chairman, Teo Soon Hoe, has passed away on Sunday.

The 65-year-old, whose cause of death was not stated, was appointed M1's Chairman on Mar 1, 2009.

Before he became Chairman , Mr Teo was on the company's board since May 1996.

M1 said in a statement on Monday that "his business acumen, foresight and focus on execution excellence enabled the Company to scale to greater heights under his strategic guidance".

According to Channel NewsAsia, Mr Low Huan Ping, who is the current board director, will be the interim Acting Chairman until the next chairman is officially appointed.

Mr Teo was the Group Finance Director of Keppel Corporation Limited from Jun 1985 to Jan 1, 2012, reported Bloomberg Businessweek.

He was also Senior Executive Director from Jan 2012 at Keppel Corporation, before retiring on Jun 1 this year.
