I refer to the reports about Miss Universe Singapore 2013 finalist Jesslyn Tan's Facebook post mocking Mr Koh Hee Huat, who was seen wearing a T-shirt with a hole in it.
As has been pointed out, Mr Koh earns an honest living as a worker at a Teochew porridge stall in Bukit Merah and it is no crime to wear a shirt with a hole in it.
Does the beauty queen expect Mr Koh to wear a jacket and tie to work at the hawker centre?
Yes, she has apologised and removed the post, but it is easy to just say sorry online.
She should do more than that. She could buy some new T-shirts for Mr Koh, visit him and apologise in person.
So the next time she thinks of making such rude and hurtful remarks, she would stop and think again before laying a finger on the computer keyboard.
