Mailbox: Why is Sim Lim shop still in business?

The shop Mobile Air at Sim Lim Square has already been involved in a number of complaints lodged with the Consumers Association of Singapore (Case).

And yet, the same shop made headlines once more for its appalling treatment of a Vietnamese tourist ("Black sheep and unwitting lambs"; Wednesday).

Earlier, staff at the shop also reportedly attempted to refund a customer a sum of more than $1,000 in coins ("Mall gets 2 to 3 complaints daily"; Wednesday).

Why is the shop still allowed to conduct business? Is a thorough investigation being conducted regarding the incidents in question? What are the findings?

It is the duty of Case and the Sim Lim Square management to look into the matter and provide consumers with a satisfying resolution as soon as possible.

Locals and foreigners alike know Singapore to be a haven for shopping and we do not want our good reputation tarnished because of incidents like these.
