Malaysian businessman charged with murder of fiancee

SEPANG - An IT businessman has been charged with the murder of his fiancee, who was initially be­­lieved to have committed suicide.

Amal Adil Alias, 26, was charged in the Sessions Court with killing Rosshida Abdullah, 30, under the overpass at the 37th kilometre of the Cyberjaya-Puchong highway between 5am and 1pm on May 6.

If found guilty, he faces the mandatory death sentence.

Amal Adil, who was dressed in orange remand clothes, was in court for less than five minutes.

Judge Noor Hafizah Mohd Salim set June 25 for next mention pen­ding the post-mortem report.

Deputy public prosecutor B. Uma Devi Balasub­ramaniam pro­se­cuted.

The couple were due to get married after Hari Raya.

It was earlier reported that Rosshida was believed to have ­committed suicide because a note thought to be written by her was found next to her body.
