Two Malaysian police officers are expected to be taken to the magistrate's court on Monday for allegedly raping and blackmailing a 19-year-old college student, police have confirmed.
The teenager lodged a report on Saturday, claiming that the two officers had caught her and her boyfriend having sex in a car on Jan 26, and proceeded to take advantage of her.
Petaling Jaya Assistant Commissioner Azmi Abu Kassif said the victim claimed that one officer took her into the police vehicle while another officer drove her boyfriend to the station in his car, reported Malaysia's The Star.
ASKED FOR BRIBE
Said Mr Azmi: "The victim claimed that while in the police car, the officer asked her to give him RM2,000 (S$750) to let her go.
"The victim agreed and the officers dropped her and her boyfriend by the roadside. She said the officers then took down her contact details," Mr Azmi said.
The student claimed that on the same day, she got a call from the officer who had demanded the bribe.
Mr Azmi said the girl claimed that the officer picked her up from her hostel, drove her to a nearby shopping mall and forced her to perform oral sex on him in his car.
"She said he later took her to a toilet in the mall and raped her. He said if she didn't do as he asked, he would arrest her," Mr Azmi said.
According to the victim's report, the officer did not stop there. The girl claimed the man has been calling her up the past week to demand sex.
"Upon receiving the report, we arrested the two officers on Sunday.
"We will get a remand order for the two men and investigate the victim's claims thoroughly," he said.
Mr Azmi promised swift and stern action if the allegations turn out to be true.
