Malaysian Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Nancy Shukri is visiting Singapore from Nov 30 to Dec 4 as the 47th Lee Kuan Yew Exchange Fellow, said a Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) statement released today.

Ms Nancy, who is in charge of law in her country, will attend meals hosted by Minister for Foreign Affairs and Law K Shanmugam and Senior Minister of State for Education and Law Indranee Rajah.

She will also meet Minister for Culture, Community and Youth Lawrence Wong and Attorney General V K Rajah.

On Dec 1, Minister Nancy will attend a welcome dinner hosted by Mr Eddie Teo, Chairman of the Lee Kuan Yew Exchange Fellowship (LKYEF).

The MFA added that she will receive briefings by various ministries and agencies, including the Ministry of Law, Ministry of Home Affairs and Land Transport Authority.

Ms Nancy will also visit the Parliament, Singapore International Arbitration Centre, Singapore International Mediation Centre, Pro Bono Services Office, and the State and Syariah Courts amongst other places.

MFA said that exchanges like these reinforce the close bonds that Singapore and Malaysia enjoy, and promote warm ties which allow for greater collaboration and strengthening of our bilateral relationship.

Established in 1991, the LKYEF programme invites outstanding individuals for high-level exchange visits to Singapore.

They are chosen on the basis of their proven track record or extraordinary potential to contribute to the development of their nations, as well as promote international understanding and goodwill.
