Malaysian police hunting for man who allegedly beat wife to death

JOHOR BARU - The police are on the hunt for a man who allegedly beat his wife to death following a misunderstanding between the couple.

Nusajaya OCPD Supt Nor Hashim Mohamed said Tuesday that the police received a call from a member of the public informing them of the incident at the Jalan Meranti, Taman Sri Pulai shophouses at around 6.40am on Tuesday.

He said the caller informed them that the man had been beating his wife called Sheela and asked the police to go and take a look.

"When we reached the victim's house, she was found sprawled unconscious on the floor.

"She was bleeding from her nose and head," he said, adding that she was brought to Hospital Sultanah Aminah where the doctor pronounced her dead upon arrival.

Supt Noor Hashim added that her husband had fled the scene and the police were looking for him to aid in investigations.
