Man, 26, accused of raping woman thrice on same day

The man, 26, was said to have committed the offences on Feb 9 last year.

At around 3am that day, he had allegedly raped the 24-year-old woman along Martin Road, in front of Rodyk Street.

Another two acts of rape on the same woman on the same day is said to have occurred near Robertson Quay and River Valley Close.

Court documents said the man also outraged the modesty of the woman by pushing her to the ground and sitting on her lower body.

In that incident, which happened along Rodyk Street, the man used criminal force to grab and kiss the woman's breast.

He faces two other charges of sexual assault.

At his flat in Jurong West, 13 obscene films were found in his laptop.

If found guilty of rape, the man can be jailed up to 20 years, fined or caned. For using criminal force to outrage the modesty of a victim, he faces a maximum jail term of 10 years and caning.

If he is found guilty of sexually assaulting the woman by penetration, he could be jailed up to 20 years, fined or caned.

He faces a fine of up to $a20,000 or a maximum jail term of six months, or both, if convicted of possessing obscene films.
