Man, 28, arrested for slashing victim at Dover Crescent

Police have arrested a 28-year-old man who is believed to have used a chopper to slash a male victim at Dover Crescent.

In a statement today, police said they were alerted to a commotion at Dover Crescent on March 27. A 24-year-old man had been slashed with a chopper and the suspect had fled the scene.

The suspect was arrested on April 1 after officers conducted extensive enquiries and operations.

He will be charged in court on April 3 for Voluntarily Causing Hurt with Dangerous Weapons. The offence is punishable with imprisonment of up to seven years, or a fine, or with caning, or with any combination of such punishments.

Commander of Clementi Police Division, Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Police Melvin Yong, commended his offiers. He added that police will leave no stone unturned to bring such violent criminals to justice.
