Man, 47, arrested for serial house break-ins

The police arrested a 47-year-old man believed to be involved in several break-ins into public housing units at Bukit Panjang.

On June 17, the police received a report of a house break-in after its occupants discovered that their laptops, mobile phones and cash were stolen.

Officers from the Jurong Division established the suspect's identity and arrested him at Jelebu Road on July 22.

He is also believed to be involved in other similar cases reported in the neighbourhood.

If convicted of Housebreaking and Theft by Night, he will face a maximum jail term of 14 years and a fine.
