Man, 68, arrested for bus molest

A 68-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of molesting a female passenger on a public bus.

At about 8am on Tuesday, the woman, 42, was travelling on the bus along Kampong Bahru Road when she felt someone touching her bottom.

She was shocked but she managed to grab the hand that touched her. She alerted the bus captain, who reported the incident to the police, who arrested the suspect.

If convicted of molest, the man can be jailed up to two years or fined and caned.

The police advise the public to be alert when taking public transport, and to move away if another commuter gets too close. If molested, shout for help and get help immediately.
