On Dec 13, Long came home to confront a man he believed was his wife's boyfriend, reported Shanghai Daily.
When Long didn't find the man, he allegedly began attacking his wife.
Li fell after she was kicked.
He then allegedly gouged her left eyeball out when she tried to stop the fight, the report said.
He turned himself in the same day of the attack, the police said. He was detained in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
