Man arrested for attempting to breach Woodlands Checkpoint

SINGAPORE - A male Malaysian national was arrested for attempting to breach the Woodlands Checkpoint yesterday, said the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA).

In a statement released to AsiaOne today, the ICA said that the 33-year-old attempted to drive out of the checkpoint when he was being directed for further checks, after he was unable to produce his travel document at the arrival counter.

The alarm was activated and the Arrival Car Zone was locked down immediately. The car was stopped within the checkpoint and the driver was placed under immediate arrest.

The ICA said that it is currently investigating into the incident, the fourth of such this year.
