Man arrested for outrage of modesty on MRT

SINGAPORE - Police arrested a 34-year-old man on Wednesday for a case of outrage of modesty committed onboard an MRT train.

A victim lodged a police report on July 25, 2013 at about 7.20am, alleging that she had been molested on the train while she was on the way to school, between Sembawang and Khatib MRT stations.

The suspect was eventually tracked down and arrested in the vicinity of Admiralty Road West today.

The suspect would be charged in court on Thursday. The offence carries a jail term up to 3 years, a fine and/or caning, upon conviction.
