Man arrested for suspected molest within 24 hours of report

Police have arrested a 32-year-old man who is believed to be involved in a case of aggravated outrage of modesty in the vicinity of Clementi Avenue 5.

On Nov 9, the suspect had restrained and molested a woman in the lift before fleeing from the scene.

Upon receiving the report, officers from Clementi Police Division conducted intensive investigations and established the identity of the man. He was arrested in the vicinity of Jurong West the next day.

If convicted, he may be jailed for a term of not less than three years and not more than 10 years and with caning.
