Man dies after fatal accident at Pasir Ris construction site

SINGAPORE - A man died in an accident at a construction site after materials toppled and pinned him down, reported The Straits Times.

The accident happened at a construction site of Pasir Ris One, a public housing development located near Pasir Ris MRT station.

According to The Straits Times, Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was notified at 11.45am and they sent two fire engines, a Red Rhino, two special appliances and an ambulance to the scene. Three police vehicles arrived later at around 2pm.

The man was pronounced dead by paramedics on-site. His body was extracted by "repositioning the crane boom" and removing the materials which fell on him, said The Straits Times.

Around 10 people waited outside the construction site for at least an hour before they were let in at about 3.30pm. The English paper said the group was believed to be family members of the victim.

Kay Lim Construction & Trading, listed as the builder for the construction project, declined to comment when contacted by The Straits Times.
