KUALA LUMPUR - An ex-convict, who stabbed his wife to death in a drunken stupor in their home in Ladang Bukit Darah, will be remanded till Nov 3.
Investigations so far pointed to a straightforward case, said Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Rahim Abdullah.
"The post-mortem revealed that the wife died from seven stab wounds to the body and neck.
"The motive is jealousy," he said.
At 8pm on Sunday, the suspect, who was released from prison on Oct 12, allegedly burst into his home after a drinking binge and accused his 35-year-old wife of having an affair.
A fight ensued, leading the suspect to grab a 32cm-long knife and stabbing his wife several times.
Drenched in blood, the wife ran to her neighbour's house screaming for help. However, the suspect chased her into the house and stabbed the mother of six another time in the back.
The suspect fled after he was threatened by the neighbours, leaving his wife to die in a pool of blood.
He surrendered at the Aman Jaya police station at 9.40pm.
The eldest child of the couple said his father was a violent man who would usually return home drunk.
