Man robbed, tasered and pushed onto train tracks in US

A man was lucky to emerge from a robbery with only minor injuries, after he was tasered and flung onto train tracks from a station platform by a pair of robbers.

Surveillance footage has emerged online of the shocking robbery, which occurred in Philadelphia, United States on Sunday, Oct 25.

According to Mail Online, the victim, a man, had fallen asleep on the train.

The video shows another man and woman standing close to the victim before snatching his backpack as the train pulled into a station. The man is jolted awake, and immediately starts running after them out on to the station platform.

After losing his footing, he eventually manages to catch up with the duo and gets into a scuffle with the male robber.

After a short struggle, the woman can be seen pulling out a taser from a bag, and pointed it into the victim's back to stun him.

The pair of robbers then pushed the limp and unconscious victim on to the train tracks before fleeing.

A thin cover on the track's third rail, which carries about 700 volts, protected the man from potentially being fatally electrocuted, reported The Philadelphia Inquirer.

According to online reports, the man subsequently regained consciousness and walked out of the tracks to a local police station to summon help.

He was then sent to a local hospital to get medical attention for non-life-threatening injuries.

According to New York Daily News, the victim has not been identified and police in Philadelphia are still looking for the two suspects.
