Man robs Cartier store in downtown Beijing

A masked gunman fired two shots then hijacked a taxi to make his escape with 11 watches from a Cartier store in Beijing's Wangfujing Street at around 7pm on Monday, the Beijing News reported.

According to the manager, the watches were collectively worth about 3,000,000 yuan (S$666,000).

The man was caught on his way to escape, according to the police.

No casualties were reported and police are further investigating the case.
