Manchester football rivals indulge in S'pore-style selfies

*Update* Organisers said that Rio Ferdinand has been crowned the winner of SingTel's SG Game On! Ultimate Selfie Challenge, earning 3,392 retweets of his selfies as of 3pm on May 15.

Football rivals Rio Ferdinand and Sergio Agüero put aside their differences to indulge in four activities, mostly with a Singaporean flair, as buddies.

They sampled local favourites and durians at Maxwell Road food centre, bantered away with a dash of Singlish and tried some taiji moves. And last but not least, former Manchester United player Ferdinand and Manchester City player Aguero showed off their amazing footwork and ball skills in a friendly 'showdown'.

They captured their fun activities and feats in selfies as part of the SG Game On! Ultimate Selfie Challenge today. 

The two football stars posted their selfies on their own Twitter pages and encouraged their fans to retweet them. The player with the most number of retweets will win the fun challenge.

In addition, the footballers have picked a lucky Singaporean, Han Boy Ming, to join them for dinner this evening. Han had come up with suggestions of the most interesting selfies on Twitter through #SGGameOn. He and a friend will join the footballers for the meal.

Four lucky SingTel customers, who purchased the Samsung GALAXY S5 LTE from April 11 to May 8, have been picked for the dinner with football stars this evening.

Tomorrow, the footballers will put their knowledge and skills to the test and thrill fans in a series of football-themed challenges at a street carnival event. Fans can also enjoy exclusive privileges on SingTel products and services at the carnival.
