Mayor of London calls on PM Lee

SINGAPORE - Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong met with Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London, on Friday during his first work visit to Singapore from Nov 27-29, 2014.

The two parties met at the Istana and it was earlier reported that Mr Johnson had taken the MRT to see PM Lee. He had boarded the Circle Line at Bayfront Station and alighted at Dhoby Ghaut MRT station, which is the nearest stop to the Istana.

At their meeting, PM Lee and Mr Johnson discussed the challenges facing global cities and took note of the dense links between Singapore and London that are based on complementarities between the two cities.

They also exchanged views on developments in Asia and Europe, as well as other international issues.

Mr Johnson will also be visiting Indonesia and Malaysia after his stop here as part of a regional tour to promote trade and investment.
