Merlion statues to undergo cleaning

SINGAPORE - Two Merlion statues at the Merlion Park will undergo regular cleaning from June 22 to 29, the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) said in a statement on Wednesday. 

While these works are in progress, the main Merlion statue will be hoarded up and will not be available for photo-taking.

The water feature of both statues will also be switched off.

"We seek the public's understanding as the works and barricades may cause some inconvenience during this period," said STB.
