Mid-autumn lights

There was some respite from the haze on Saturday night as 5,000 residents celebrated the Mid-Autumn festival at Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park.

The Teck Ghee Lantern Night 2015 also saw activities such as calligraphy and a lantern procession.

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, who is an MP for Ang Mo Kio GRC, joined the annual event.

He posted on his Instagram yesterday: "So glad the haze cleared enough for us to see the almost-full moon."

Mrs Norizan Suef, 30, a housewife who was at the park with her husband and three children aged seven, eight and 10, was also happy that they could celebrate the Mid-Autumn festival outdoors.

She said: "It was our first time at the park. Usually we would just light the lanterns and play on our own.

"My kids really liked the lanterns and they will be playing with them at home again."
