Military exercises to be conducted till June 1

SINGAPORE - The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) will conduct military exercises in Seletar, Marsiling, Jalan Bahar, Neo Tiew, Lim Chu Kang, Jalan Kwok Min, Tuas, Upper Jurong, Hong Kah, Ama Keng, Bedok Jetty, Kranji, Lentor, Simpang, Sembawang, Mandai from 8am on Mon, May 25 to 8am on Monday, Jun 1.

Blanks and thunderflashes will be used.

SAF will also be conducting Live Firing Exercises in Pasir Laba (SAFTI) Live Firing Area in the same time period.

Sea vessels and crafts sailing through the Western Johor Straits from 8am on Monday, May 25 to 8am on Monday, Jun 1 are to keep within the 75m Navigable Sea Lane and not to stray into the Live Firing Boundary.

Live ammunition and flares will be used.

The public is advised not to be alarmed and to keep clear of these areas.

The Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) will also be conducting Live Firing exercises around Pulau Sudong, Pulau Pawai and Pulau Senang from 7am to 11pm on Monday, May 25 to Friday, May 29 and from 8am to 1pm on Saturday, May 30.

Flares will be released during the night firing.

The islands of Pulau Sudong, Pulau Senang and Pulau Pawai are proclaimed manoeuvring and firing grounds. The public is advised to keep clear of these islands. The public is also advised to stay clear of the prohibited waters off Changi Naval Base and Tuas Naval Base.

The RSAF will put up an aerial display at National Day Parade 2015. To prepare for this, the RSAF will be conducting rehearsals across the island from 10.30am to 12.30pm on Monday, May 27, Tuesdays on Jun 2, 9, and 16, and from 5pm to 7.15pm on Saturdays on Jun 20, 27, Jul 4, 11, 18, and 25.

The public is advised not to be alarmed.
