Minister Shanmugam to visit New Zealand from May 24-26

SINGAPORE - Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Law K Shanmugam will visit New Zealand from May 24 to 26.

His visit takes place as Singapore and New Zealand mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations this year.

During his visit, Mr Shanmugam will meet New Zealand Minister of Foreign Affairs Murray McCully, Minister of Justice, Courts, Broadcasting and Communications Amy Adams, and Leader of the Labour Party Andrew Little.

Mr Shanmugam will also attend a reception hosted by Mr McCully, celebrating 50 years of Singapore's independence, 50 years of diplomatic relations between Singapore and New Zealand, and 40 years of partnership between ASEAN and New Zealand.

During the reception, Mr Shanmugam will meet members of the Singaporean community based in New Zealand.

Mr Shanmugam will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
