When 72-year-old Goh Chin Hin went missing a month ago, his family never gave up looking for him.
He was last seen in his Tanglin Halt Road home at about 10am on May 21.
Thirty relatives spent every day scouring bus stops and interchanges and even got 70 volunteers to help in the search.
However, Mr Goh's decomposed body was discovered by a grass cutter last Friday morning near Jurong Canal Drive.
Police were alerted just after 11am and are now investigating the case as an unnatural death.
Mr Goh's 42-year-old son reportedly said it was the first time his father had gone missing.
His money and mobile phone were still with him when he was found and it is understood that no foul play is suspected.
He leaves behind his 65-year-old wife and their son and daughter.
His is the second case of a missing person's body being found in just three days.
Mr Ow Lew Bin, 77, who was last seen in Marsiling on June 6, was found dead in vegetation by the Bukit Timah Expressway last Wednesday.
His case is also being treated as an unnatural death.
