Wedding bells might ring for the Singaporean-Romanian couple who were in the news recently after a Singaporean father reported a 'mystery' disappearance of his wife and daughter.

The Singaporean woman, who was earlier thought to have gone missing with her mother, and her online Romanian boyfriend might tie the knot in one to two years, Shin Min Daily News reported today.

They are also planning to emigrate to the United States. This was revealed by the boyfriend Alexandru Donea, 18, when he was interviewed by the media in Romania.

Ms Cheryl Yap Lay Leng, 25, an administrative officer, and her mother, Madam Foo Li Kheng, 61, left for Romania without telling their family in January.

Ms Yap revealed that she wanted to meet her boyfriend, whom she had befriended online two years ago, after she and her mother were 'found'.

In an interview with Romanian broadcaster Pro TV, Miss Yap, said she needed to meet Mr Donea "to work together on YouTube".

Ms Yap and her mother had been staying with Mr Donea and his parents in a village commune in Olt County about 150km from Bucharest. Ms Yap's father, a cab-driver, who was relieved to know that both were sound and safe, told the media that he had no objections to his daughter's plans for her personal happiness as "she is now grown up".
