SINGAPORE - A monkey sustained injuries at MacRitchie Reservoir when it got snagged by a big fishing hook yesterday afternoon (Aug 25).
A reader alerted citizen journalist website Stomp to the incident. According to the reader, an angler was fishing at a no-fishing zone when his hook caught the monkey.
An animal welfare group managed to track down the animal and brought it in for treatment.
According to Stomp, the monkey had a punctured chest, and sustained injuries to its fingers. The monkey also suffered a miscarraige from this accident.
The National Parks Board and Public Utilities Board have been alerted to the case.
