More than 1.4 million people turn up to pay their last respects to Mr Lee Kuan Yew

SINGAPORE - A total of more than 1.4 million people have paid their last respects to Singapore's first Prime Minister Mr Lee Kuan Yew during the mourning period, The Straits Times reported.

The total number of people who had visited the Parliament House is 454,687 as of 12.30pm on Sunday.

On average, there were about 6,500 visitors per hour.

There are currently 131,450 condolence cards located at the Parliament House.

Additionally, the total number of visitors to the 18 People's Association community tribute sites for Mr Lee Kuan Yew amounts to 1.1 million as of 11am on Sunday.
