The three-hour Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) dropped to 77 at 4pm, 73 at 5pm and settled at 70 at 6pm.
The current 24-hour PSI ranges from 76-93, which is in the moderate range. This is a healthier improvement from this morning's levels of 82-104.
An update from the National Environment Agency reported on Sunday that 14 and 126 hotspots had been detected in Sumatra and Kalimantan respectively.
It is advisable to stay indoors and cut down on rigorous outdoor physical activity when the PSI index is above 100.
