Motorcycle owner shot and killed by thief

Fifty-year-old Acam Mulyadi, a Blue Bird taxi driver, died after being shot by a man who was attempting to steal his motorcycle at his home in Bintara Jaya subdistrict, Bekasi, West Java, early on Saturday.

Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Martinus Sitompul said the crime occurred at 3:30 a.m. He said the thieves had tried to take the motorcycle, but Acam caught them in the act.

"One of the thieves shot the victim in the stomach. They then quickly fled," Martinus said as quoted by tempo.co on Saturday.

Acam was taken to the Islamic Hospital in Pondok Kopi, East Jakarta, where he died.

His body was taken to the National Police Hospital in Kramat Jati, East Jakarta, for an autopsy.
