Mr Lee Kuan Yew's portrait made of 10,000 ballons set new record

About 400 residents from Jurong Central formed a portrait of the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew last night with 10,000 balloons, setting a local record for the largest portrait made of balloons.

This was to celebrate the opening of 10 new barbecue pits surrounding the community hall near Blocks 419 and 420 in Jurong West Street 42, as well as Singapore's Jubilee.

The effort was entered into the Singapore Book of Records as the largest portrait made of balloons. "With this project, we want to keep our memories of Mr Lee Kuan Yew going strong in the community of Jurong Central," said Mr Sivashankar Chandra, constituency manager of Jurong Green Community Club.
