Mum of national footballer in cheating scandal

The mother of a national football player has been accused of cheating three families of plane tickets to attend a sports festival in Brunei, reported Harian Metro.

A victim, who wished to be known as Pairus, claimed that he suffered losses of almost RM5,000 (S$1,879) to the woman.

He said tickets for six people only cost RM2,700 but the woman demanded RM5,500.

"I booked the tickets through the woman. I was planning to take my family to attend a festival this weekend. When the woman did not hand over the tickets, I began to feel suspicious. However, she told me that she needed more money for the tickets," he said.

When he subsequently called the airlines involved, he was told that it never received any payment from the woman. In the end, Pairus booked and paid for the tickets himself.

Brickfields district police chief AC Mohd Azlee Abdullah confirmed that a report had been lodged, adding that the case had since been handed over to the Seremban district police headquarters.
