SINGAPORE - Myanmar nationals in Singapore will have until Wednesday (Oct 21) to cast their votes at the Myanmar embassy, local media reported on Saturday night.
Deputy Chief of Mission, Mr Thet Tun told Channel NewsAsia that tickets for this coming Monday would be distributed to people queuing up.
Long queues which stretched up to one kilometer have been forming outside the embassy since Thursday, and the number of people allowed to cast votes on Saturday was capped at 3,000.
Channel NewsAsia said that those who tried to join the queue later were given a token for a priority queue on Sunday.
Myanmar will hold its first free general election on Nov 8.
