New centre for nanotech reasearch

SINGAPORE - Research into particles thousands of times smaller than a grain of sand, or nanotechnology, will be given a boost with a $60-million institute to be set up by Nanyang Technological University (NTU).

The Nanomedicine Institute@NTU, the first such centre in South-east Asia, will delve into the medical application of nanotechno-logy for conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, ophthalmology and skin therapeutics.
