MG Perry Lim was recently appointed the Chief of Defence Force of the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF). A ministry statement on the new appointments said MG Lim will be able to provide a broad strategic perspective to the deliberations of the board.

The statement also said Lieutenant-General (LG) Ng Chee Meng, former Chief of Defence Force, had stepped down from the JTC board following his retirement from Mindef on Aug 18. General Ng, who has joined the People's Action Party, will take part in the General Election.

On the appointment of Mr Lee Chong Kwee, the statement said he is the chairman of Jurong Port Pte Ltd, and holds a number of directorships at several companies, namely, Tiger Airways Holdings Ltd, Mapletree Investments Private Ltd, First Flight Couriers Private Ltd, and Singapore Storage and Warehouse Pte Ltd. Mr Lee is also a Corporate Advisor to Temasek Holdings as well as chairman of Jurong Country Club.

Mr Lee was formerly the Chief Executive Officer, Asia Pacific, of Exel Singapore Pte Ltd for six years. "With his experience in the logistics sector, Mr Lee will be able to advise on the strategic alignment between JTC and Jurong Port as the latter embarks on its new directions," said the statement.
