SINGAPORE - Residents can now look forward to a new trail which includes visits to 14 ABC Waters locations.

The ABC Waters project which stands for national water agency PUB's Active, Beautiful, Clean Waters programme, involves a series of walks that will take place on the fourth Sunday of each month.

The first walk is organised by Hong Kah North Active Aging Committee and will take place at Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park on June 28.

Residents will get to explore parks such as Lorong Halus Wetland and Geylang River before rounding up the series with a walkabout at Jurong Lake in March 2017.

Sunday morning also marked the last day of another series of walks that took participants to 18 park connectors. The two-year programme which saw an average of 200 participants each month, concluded when 400 people walked 5km from Bukit Batok Nature Park to Hong Kah North Community Club (CC).

Grassroots adviser to Hong Kah North, Dr Amy Khor, said the programme aims to encourage residents to exercise while taking them to places they may not have visited before.

Those interested in signing up for the ABC Waters walks can do so at Hong Kah North CC or Gek Poh Ville CC.

There is a $2 fee for the shuttle bus service that will take participants from the CCs to each walk's location.
