No books for kids at new library

I was glad my five-year-old daughter was not with me when I visited the new public library in orchardgateway mall, as it has no books appropriate for young readers like her ("library@orchard scores with books and looks"; last Friday).

The library is said to be the first to "seek and integrate public feedback into its design, collection and services". I wonder if any parents or teachers gave their feedback.

As a mother and an English-language teacher, I take my daughter and two-year-old twin boys to libraries at every opportunity. Would it be so difficult to set aside a corner for young readers like them in every library here?

I hope the National Library Board (NLB) will help me share my love for reading with the next generation, so children can grow up to love books and spend less time on mobile devices.

The Government aims to promote family-friendly places for all, and I hope the NLB will do its part. I hope to take my children to this new library soon, where we can borrow some books together.
