No cars on part of Orchard Road on Saturday

SINGAPORE - New Year festivities will run a bit longer on Orchard Road this weekend with Pedestrian Night set for Saturday, Jan 2.

Police have said that the part of Orchard Road between Scotts Road and Bideford Road will be closed to traffic from 6pm to 11pm on Saturday. The carriageway of Mount Elizabeth in the direction of Orchard Road, between Nutmeg Road and Orchard Road, will also be closed.

Access to the affected parts of roads will be granted only to police and emergecy vehicles during the closure.

The police also warned that parking restrictions along peripheral roads will be strictly enforced during Pedestrian Night on Orchard Road - Orchard Fiesta.

SMRT has announced that bus services on the affected road will be diverted between 6pm and 11pm that evening, skipping the Tang Plaza and Lucky Plaza bus stops.
