SINGAPORE - Shoppers at NTUC FairPrice stores, including Cheers and FairPrice Xpress convenience stores, will be able to make payments using SingTel's Dash mobile app from tomorrow (Nov 17) onwards.

They can do so by entering the counter code on the Dash reader at checkout counters.

Those with near field communication (NFC)-enabled Android phones can also use a new feature called Dash Tap and Pay to pay quickly by tapping their phones on the reader.

SingTel said in statement today that it will work towards enabling the feature on iPhones once its NFC functionality is open to third party developers.

According to the telco, Dash has the largest mobile payment merchant network in Singapore due to its collaboration with local partners.

Until Dec 31, those who pay using the app at NTUC FairPrice stores will get five per cent cashback, with no minimum spend required.
